This event will bring together young people-- including middle and high school students and young adults from a number of different youth development programs -- and organizations in an effort to hear from the youth we all serve. We want to gather their ideas for solutions to streamline the connection and improve the pathway between environmentally literate students and opportunities for them in an emerging green economy. This will be an opportunity for youth who have participated in green career programs to influence and help guide the professionals and organizations on how to improve our programs and be more effective, accessible, and inclusive. The information we learn from them will also influence future actions and recommendations from us – Project Green Classrooms*, the Greater Baltimore Wilderness Coalition, and the Chesapeake Bay Program Diversity Workgroup. A brief agenda can be found below. A more detailed version will be sent before the event.
If you are an organization that wants to attend you are also welcomed and encouraged to have the young people from your programs participate. Please consider bringing a small number (up to five) who would benefit from this event and who will actively contribute to the exchange. Just make sure each attendee is registered.
Please complete the registration form by Friday, 7/7/17. The form can be found here: tinyurl.com/GreenCareersListening
